Uses

Constituent of substrates for bonsai (5 - 20%) or for other plants in pots. In time (2-3 years) it can be taxed affecting the drainage capacity but the coarse granulation delays this process satisfactorily.
As a rooting medium for seedlings, bulb storage, seed stratification.
Bedding for various animal species.
